Marine industry shade provider SureShade has created a new website with resources to assist boat builders and dealers with the design, sales and installation of SureShade retractable shade tops. The new site includes features such as a photo gallery by boat style, CAD models of installation concepts, product pages and more. The site is available at sureshade.com

Grace College’s William P. Gordon Institute for Enterprise Development will be hosting a special business luncheon on Sept. 17, featuring keynote speaker Bill Yeargin, president and CEO of Correct Craft, Inc. At the luncheon, Yeargin will address the topic “What does the future hold? How today’s global trends will impact you and your company.” He will be answering audience questions.

The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) is partnering with Smith and Company LLC (DBA Beyond 2000 Software) to create a phone application for the International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC). The phone app will contain conference information, including the overall schedule, seminar details, a list of exhibitors, and hotel information as well as dining and entertainment options in Fort Lauderdale and conference alerts. It will be available for download before and during the conference, at no cost to attendees, on the iPhone, Android and BlackBerry. IMBC is scheduled for Jan. 26–28, 2011, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The Maine Clean Boatyards & Marinas Program (MCBMP) added another facility to its growing list of Designated Clean Marinas with the presentation of the flag and certificate of designation to Maine Yacht Center in Portland. “It is such a joy to see this flag flying here at MYC,” Susan Swanton, MCBMP Program Manager, said in a release. “Although this facility is still fairly new, there was still work to be done to achieve the high standards of the program and Brian and everyone here at the marina worked hard to make it happen.”

St. Louis-based Schaeffer Manufacturing Co., a provider of lubricants and fuel additives, was recently named to the Inc. 5000 list, a compilation of the fastest growing private companies in the United States. This is the company’s first year on the list. Schaeffer ranked number 4684 on the list with a growth rate of 12 percent over the last three years. The company, which has 10 warehouse facilities with 15 division sales managers supervising 500 sales representatives, sells its products in 55 countries, including recent expansion to Europe, China and the Pacific Rim.
