In Brief: Bellavia Gentile & Associates, Intellian, Garmin, Clean Marina Program

Bellavia Gentile & Associates, LLP, a dealership law firm, is offering a new Dealer Representation Program for Marine Retailer Association of America members, according to a release from MRAA. The company is offering a retainer program for $300 per month. The program offers services including unlimited telephone advice/consultation regarding dealership operations (employment issues, contract review, consumer issues), letter preparation and general releases. Members will also receive regular informational e-mail bulletins. Bellavia Gentile & Associates will offer reduced rates for litigation to all DRP members. 

Intellian, a producer of marine satellite antennas, recently hired marine electronics sales veteran Sean Hatherley as its vice president of sales, according to a release from the company. In his new role, Hatherley will drive the sales growth of the company’s line of Satellite TV Antenna, VSAT and Inmarsat FB systems. Hatherley has more than twenty years of experience in the marine electronics market, most recently as the director of OEM sales for Navico, where he was responsible for developing the company’s OEM marine electronics market, as well as overseeing sales and support efforts to boat manufacturers. Hatherley is based in southern New Hampshire.

Garmin has added Nick Meadow to its marine sales team in the UK OEM Technical Sales Executive role, according to a release from the company. The position involves working with boat builders and boat importers to advise them on Garmin products and marine network solutions. Meadow joined Garmin in 2005 working in product support. His last role was marine product support supervisor, answering technical queries and giving advice to distributors, end users and OEMS (including Fairline and Sunseeker) on their installations.

The Clean Marina Program committee is coordinating with the Association of Marina Industries (AMI) to offer an all day Clean Marina and Clean Boating workshop for program managers at the International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC), according to a release from AMI. The event is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2011, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. “We’ve been interested in developing a workshop for Clean Marina Program managers and partners in the Clean Marina Initiative for some time,” Anne Smith, Marina Technical Advisory Specialist with the Virginia Sea Grant Marine Extension Program, said in the release. “It is our goal to give program managers a place to network with each other, discuss their state’s program and issues they face, and receive updates on new regulations, technologies, and topics that affect them.”
