Sunsation Powerboats has created an exclusive engine performance and dress package for the new 8.2L MerCruiser, the company reported. “We were actually a little surprised at the ‘look’ of the 8.2 from the very first time we took delivery,” Wayne Schaldenbrand of Sunsation said in the release. “There was no question that the 502 cubic inch, catalytic converter equipped, 430 hp High Performance V-8 was the most advanced new engine in its class. But, the styling of the engine was so far off from what our customers expect … we had to do something.”
MyFinanceGuys.com has added assets and broadened its base to better serve the marine industry, according to a release from the company. The retail finance service provider says it has aggressively developed new relationships with lenders around the country and can now connect its dealers with more than 500 lenders. “Historically dealers have relied upon only a few major lenders to satisfy their retail demand,” the company stated in the release. “This was similar to the wholesale side of the business. The need to be more horizontal and have additional funding resources is a crucial part of enjoying success in today’s market. Those who developed alternative relationships before the recession have a major leg up.”
AlexSeal Yacht Coatings, a paint system manufactured by German-based Mankiewicz Gebr. & Co, has moved its U.S. operations from St. Louis to Charleston, S.C. Mankiewicz invested in renovating an existing 24,000 sq. ft. building, which the company says has been transformed into a state-of-the-art lab, production, technical training and warehouse facility. The company says the move provides faster access to AlexSeal shipments from Germany through the Charleston port of entry, decreased delay for West Coast shipments via direct access to southern trucking routes, closer proximity to the hub of its U.S. customer base, and better resources for employees.
During the past 90 days, YachtForums.com has surpassed 300,000 readers, according to a release from the site. “It took us 6 years to build an average of 200,000 monthly readers, but from May thru July 2010, our traffic swelled to a record 309,324 readers,” Publisher Carl Camper stated in the release.
