MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin will provide a state loan of $1.5 million to Marquis Yachts LLC, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.
Gov. Jim Doyle said the loan will help the northeastern Wisconsin yacht maker add 315 jobs. The loan comes from the Community Development Block Grant program run by the Department of Commerce.
Marquis was one of the former Genmar brands purchased by Irwin L. Jacobs in the Genmar bankruptcy auction. Earlier this year, production resumed at the company's facility in Pulaski, Wis., and Marquis began hiring back workers.
