Four Forever Resorts marinas recently earned certification from the Clean Marinas California (CMC) program, Forever Resorts said in a release. Administered by the Marina Recreation Association, CMC represents a partnership of private marina owners, government marina operators and yacht clubs, and was originally developed to provide clean facilities to the boating community and protect the state’s waterways from pollution. Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina and Willow Beach Harbor at Lake Mohave, as well as Temple Bar Marina and Callville Bay Marina at Lake Mead, are the newest recipients of Clean Marinas California certification.
WhisperPower, a manufacturer of diesel integrated power systems for marine, mobile and domestic applications, has appointed AER Supply Ltd., located in Seabrook, Texas, as their distribution partner for the southern states of North America. AER is a mid-size wholesale distributor with over 30 years of experience in both the leisure and commercial marine industries. As a niche distributor, AER said it supplies the products they represent through a network of strategically positioned sales/service/warranty dealers.
Sandra Purcella has been hired as Power & Motoryacht‘s Southeast sales representative, according to a release from the magazine. Purcella has been working in Florida’s marine advertising industry her entire career. For the last 10 years, she has been president of her own marine-centric advertising agency, which specialized in developing multi-platform campaigns for her clients. “I am thrilled to have Sandra join PMY,” Ad Director Sean O’Leary said in the release. “Sandra knows the Florida boat market as well as anyone in the business. Her longstanding relationships with clients and knowledge of the marine media landscape will make her a huge asset to our sales team.”
The American Boat Builders & Repairers Association (ABBRA), Bennett Brothers Yachts, and Bristol Marine are collectively hosting free regional roundtable discussions on June 22 and June 29, respectively, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The regional roundtables are open to both ABBRA members and non-members. ABBRA roundtables offer a chance for similar marinas, boatyards, and boat building and repair businesses to discuss common problems and solutions within the marine industry. The issues discussed at the roundtable are determined by the participants and can include boatyard economics, managing busy season workloads, training employees, and new yard technologies.
The American Boat and Yacht Council has formed an agreement with global manufacturer and distributor Weems & Plath to provide a 25-percent discount on all merchandise to ABYC members, as well as to Westlawn Institute and Marine League Schools staff and students. According to the agreement, Weems & Plath will provide the member discount when ordering on its website or by calling in orders and providing the ABYC membership discount code.
