Tigé celebrates 20th anniversary
ABILENE, Texas — Tigé Boats turned 20 this year, and to commemorate the occasion, employees and suppliers presented CEO Charlie Pigeon with a one–of–a–kind Platinum Edition Tigé, according to a release from the company.
“The Tigé RZ2 was specially designed and built for Pigeon in appreciation for his 20 years of enterprising dedication to Tigé employees and dealers plus his more than three decades of progressive involvement and support of the inboard industry,” the release stated.
Tigé employees donated the labor to build the commemorative boat and suppliers donated all of the parts. The unique RZ2 features a custom gel coat design, graphics, tower and other unique accessories. The boat was presented to Pigeon during the quarterly Tigé Quality Standards luncheon at Tigé headquarters in Abilene.
Pigeon started Tigé in 1990 in California. The company’s first model, the Tigé 2000slm was named WaterSki Magazine’s Rookie of the Year in 1991. The company grew rapidly and, in 1994, moved its manufacturing base to Abilene, Texas. In 2006, Tigé expanded its manufacturing capabilities when it opened its current factory headquarters in Abilene.
