Sail America sets dates for 2010 conference and regatta
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Sail America’s second annual Sailing Industry Conference will be held June 15-16 in Annapolis, Md., with the second annual Sailing Industry Regatta to be held June 14 at J-World Annapolis, according to a release from the industry trade association.
The conference will focus on practical tools and proven expertise to help Sail America’s members better manage their businesses in today’s challenging economic environment, reported committee chair and Blue Water Sailing magazine Publisher George Day.
“We themed our conference ‘Adjusting to the New Economy’ because this is the most significant challenge our industry is facing,” Day said in the release. “We’ve designed a comprehensive two-day agenda full of solid presentations designed to help our members deal with this new economy and reality.”
The conference, which is sponsored by Yanmar, will be held at St. John’s College and will feature a mix of featured speakers from inside and outside the sailing industry.
The West Marine-sponsored Sailing Industry Regatta will bring together teams to compete aboard identical J/80s as industry players vie to win the Sailing Industry Regatta Trophy.
Complete event details including fees and registration materials will be available mid-April.
