Conn. yacht brokers collaborate on new boat show

ESSEX, Conn. — A group of Connecticut yacht brokers have joined to host the First Annual Spring Boat Show on April 23-25 in Essex, according to a release from the brokers. The event will be held at Brewer Dauntless Marina and there is no charge to attend.

The boat show is a collaboration between Boatworks Yacht Sales, Wilde Yacht Sales, Eastland Yachts, Hank Aldrich Yacht Sales and Prestige Yacht Sales, along with sponsors Brewer Dauntless Shipyard & Marina and Soundings Magazine. The group plans to make the show a regularly scheduled event each spring.

Sail and power boat manufacturers that will be represented at the show include American Tug, Cabo Yachts, EastBay, Grand Banks, Hallberg-Rassey, Hatteras, Hunt Yachts, Jupiter, Nonsuch, Nordic Tugs, Ranger Tugs and Sabre Yachts. More than 50 boats ranging from 25’ to 72’ will be available, including both new and pre-owned brokerage boats.

“When the dealers learned that the Newport Spring Boat Show had been cancelled, they realized that there was an opportunity to promote our own regional boat show,” Doug Domenie of Brewer Dauntless Shipyard & Marina said in the release. “There seems to be growing optimism about the recovering economy, and increased interest in boat shopping. The enthusiasm we have received from customers and the industry has been very favorable. We are looking forward to a successful outcome.”
