SOUTHOLD, N.Y. – Marine assistance company Sea Tow Services International Inc. is opening new franchises on Lake Raystown in Huntington County, Pa., and Clarks Hill Lake (J. Strom Thurmond Lake) along the Georgia-South Carolina border, the company reported in a recent statement.
Owned by The Patt Organization (Josh Patt), Sea Tow Raystown Lake is based at Lake Raystown Resort and Sea Tow Clarks Hill Lake marks the fourth franchise to be developed by Capt. Howie Kaplan. The franchise is co-owned by Capt. Jon Gridley.
The company also reported the sale and transfer of ownership of three existing locations. Sea Tow Myrtle Beach (S.C.) is now under the ownership of Capt. Douglas Dougherty, a lifelong boater and professional captain who brings with him more than two years experience as a captain at Sea Tow Freeport (N.Y.). Sea Tow Galveston (Texas) is now under the ownership of Galveston natives Christina and Capt. Billy Kern, who has ten years experience in the marine industry. Capt. Howie Kaplan also recently took over the Sea Tow Kerr-Gaston Lake (N.C.) franchise.
“In a struggling economy, franchising presents entrepreneurs with the opportunity to establish new businesses while being supported by a well established brand,” Capt. Tim Wilson, Sea Tow’s vice president of franchise development and sales said.
Sea Tow Kerr-Gaston Lake, Sea Tow Clarks Hill Lake, Sea Tow Myrtle Beach and Sea Tow Galveston are open and operational. Sea Tow Raystown Lake opens May 1.
