Newport Boat Show producer renews lease

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Duncan McIntosh Co., producer of the Newport Boat Show and Lido Yacht Expo, signed a new lease with Vornado Realty Trust last week, extending its boat show agreements through 2014, according to a release from Duncan McIntosh.

New York-based Vornado Realty Trust purchased Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, home of both in-water boat shows, in early 2009.

“We’re excited about our relationship with the new owners and the commitment they’re making to refurbishing and upgrading the entire facility,” Duncan McIntosh said in the release. McIntosh has produced the Newport Boat Show since 1973 and the Lido Yacht Expo since 1978.

The Newport Boat Show returns to Lido Marina Village April 15-18 for its 37th annual showing. The 32nd annual Lido Yacht Expo will take place Sept. 23-26.

The Newport Boat Show and Lido Yacht Expo offer showgoers an extensive variety of big boats and yachts, plus a wide selection of 35-65’ boats and marine gear, accessories and service vendors. Exhibits cover more than 400,000 square feet of floating docks and land space.

In addition to producing the boat shows, Duncan McIntosh Co. publishes Sea Magazine, Boating World, Editor & Publisher and The Log Newspaper.
