Detroit Boat Show announces dates

LIVONIA, Mich. — The 52nd Annual Detroit Boat Show is scheduled for Feb. 13-21, 2010, at Cobo Center in Detroit, organizers reported this week.

The show will offer hundreds of boats from 10 to (an expected) 45 feet for fishing, cruising, skiing, tubing and other boating lifestyle activities.

New this year is the addition of the Great Lakes Outdoor Recreation Expo, a four-day show that runs during the final four days of the show. The new consumer show is dedicated to the growing number of outdoor recreation enthusiasts in Michigan who hike, bike, kayak, canoe, rollerblade, golf, etc. Admission to one show allows entrance to the other.

“Survey results show boaters enjoy other recreational activities in addition to boating,” said Show Manager Van Snider in a release. “This new show will offer an added feature for boaters and introduce boating to those who are already outdoor minded but not yet on the water.”

The Detroit Boat Show and the Great Lakes Outdoor Recreation Expo are produced by the Michigan Boating Industries Association, a state-wide marine trade association representing boaters and the boating industry in Michigan.
