Regal Marine partners with MDCE

ORLANDO, Fla. — Regal Marine, maker of Regal Boats, has joined forces with the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo to give its dealer network access to the one-of-a-kind educational program. Regal has specifically chosen to time its annual dealer meeting on the day leading up to the MDCE — at the same location — and the builder has offered to pay for an additional night’s stay for any of its dealers who register for the MDCE.

“By us holding our meeting directly before the Marine Dealer Conference, it allowed our dealers to make one trip and made it easy for them to do both events,” says Duane Kuck, president and CEO of Regal Marine. “We believe in education as a principle, that we all need to be learning and getting better, all the time, at what we do. We think we can learn through the educational content at the dealer conference, and we always learn a tremendous amount just by boat builders and dealers being together.”

“The support that Regal continues to offer its dealers, in addition to the support it has shown for the MDCE, is consistent with the values that have defined the company over the years,” says Matt Gruhn, associate publisher of Boating Industry, which produces the MDCE in partnership with the Marine Retailers Association of America. “We’ve heard from numerous boat builders who are looking to offer their dealers an educational opportunity through the MDCE, and Regal is the first to officially do so. We are honored by their belief in the value of this program, and we expect to over-deliver on this educational opportunity — at a time when dealers need it the most.”

The Marine Dealer Conference is a two-plus-day dealer educational and expo event to be held in Orlando, Nov. 16-18, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The event includes 17 educational sessions geared toward helping overcome the challenges in today’s economic environment through multiple tracks of content: Sales/Marketing, Service Department Operations and Commercial/Retail Lending.

The MDCE program kicks off with a keynote presentation from the Disney Institute on Leading Your Company Through Turbulent Times, and the educational content then drills deeper into dealership operations with such topics as inventory management, making more money in service, “the dealership of tomorrow,” recovery and growth for today’s dealers, the 6 Cs of lending and much more. The event then culminates with two panel discussions that will focus on how builders, suppliers and dealers can partner for a better, stronger future in the marine industry.

“We think that there’s a whole lot of value in the educational line-up that the Marine Dealer Conference has put together,” says Kuck. “And we think that dealers participating will find it to be very helpful to their business.

“We have a team concept with our dealers, so we’re looking to this event to help us get better as a manufacturer, and our dealers to get better as dealers, and for us all to get better together. The benefit in learning through this event is that we all become better at what we do.”
