Herreshoff to give keynote at ABBRA symposium

Warren, RI – Renowned sailor, designer and scion to the marine industry Halsey Herreshoff is scheduled to present the keynote address at the American Boat Builders & Repairers Association’s first Summer Symposium Networking & Social Event in Newport, R.I., Aug. 3–4.

“Those who own and work in the repair, service and boat building industry, and affiliated marine-industry businesses will benefit greatly from all the networking opportunities and seminars at the Summer Symposium,” says Doug Domenie, ABBRA’s president. “The content is geared to this audience specifically. Along with Halsey Herreshoff, the event includes a question-and-answer panel with EPA and OSHA representatives, a highly informative session on developing continuity plans and a riveting closing discussion from the industry’s favorite maritime law specialist, Dennis Nixon.”

Included in the registration for the ABBRA Summer Symposium, attendees will be offered private tours of three major New England boat building and repair facilities: Hinckley Yacht Services, Newport Shipyard, and Conanicut Marine Services.

As an added incentive, event attendees’ guests may also purchase a reduced guest-registration rate, which allows them access to all symposium meals, and friends and family will be offered low-price tickets to tour Newport’s attractions.

Those interested in benefiting from ABBRA’s pre-registration reduced conference rate should sign up by June 30.
