Service efficiency best practices

Dealerships come in all sizes and capabilities. But no matter if you’re a $500,000 dealer, a $5 million dealer or a $50 million dealer, you still have the responsibility of providing top-notch customer service and delivering profitability.

These two necessities merge in your service department, and no matter how big or small your operation is, service department efficiency is critical to both customer service and profitability. Get the boat turnaround quickly to keep customers happy and keep your technicians on task to keep your bottom line happy.

Attendees of the 2009 Marine Dealer Conference & Expo will have the opportunity to sit in on panel discussion among leading dealers — of all sizes — as they explore the challenges and the solutions for creating the most efficient service department in their markets. These dealers have proven year in and year out that it is truly possible to hit efficiency levels that approach (and sometimes exceed) 100 percent.

Attaining that level, however, takes solid planning and incredible execution. So these dealers will discuss exactly how they use pay plans, incentives, scheduling, and additional resources to set their techs up for success. Dealers will learn in the session that precedes this panel discussion how higher efficiency leads to higher profitability, and then they can hear it straight from the dealers in this session.

To learn more about the Service Efficiency Best Practices panel discussion, make plans to attend the 2009 Marine Dealer Conference & Expo, to be held in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 16-18. With two concurrent educational tracks and nearly 20 individual educational sessions, this event has been designed to help dealers navigate today’s difficult market.

This panel discussion will be one of two such discussions of the Service Department Track, will be preceded by a presentation on the link between service efficiency and profitability and followed by a presentation on 20-plus tips for a stronger service department and a second dealer panel discussion on best practices for improving their service profitability.

A Sales & Marketing Track will be held concurrently, with a focus on such topics as the dealership of tomorrow, dealership recovery and growth, the art and science of inventory management, a best ideas dealer panel discussion and secrets to lead management success. Wednesday morning, a Commercial and Retail Financing Track will also be offered. The event will then wrap up with a dealer solutions panel and an industry leaders panel, two hallmarks of this convention.
