Boksa Marine Design expands capacity

TAMPA, Fla. — Naval architecture and marine design firm Boksa Marine Design has expanded to facilitate new construction and large scale yacht refit projects worldwide, the company reported in a recent release.

“While the recent global economic climate has forced many marine based companies to dramatically reduce overhead and pushed some builders to the brink of bankruptcy, (Boksa) has broadened its capabilities to better serve private yacht builders, owners and the commercial shipping industry with two divisions providing a comprehensive list of services including consulting, complete project management and oversight, electrical design, conceptual design, mechanical engineering and 24 hour On-Call Casualty Response,” the company said in a statement.

The firm launched BMD Commercial Division in March to provide design and engineering to commercial shipping companies and shipyards. In April, an On-Call Casualty Response Service was introduced to support yacht owners and charter vessels with 24-hour consulting regarding vessel stability and survivability in emergency situations.

The firm launched its BMD Yacht Design Division in 2003 and began acting as a fully operational naval architecture firm in 2007.
