Boating Industry magazine launches Facebook page
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. – Boating Industry (BI) magazine has created a page on Facebook, a free social networking Web site, to provide marine business professionals with yet another way to receive the news and information they need to make decisions for their businesses.
This allows those professionals who become “fans” of Boating Industry on Facebook to receive links to news articles posted to its Web site, www.boatingindustry.com, as the editors publish it online, as well as information about the blogs, magazine articles, LinkedIn discussions, events and programs with which BI is involved.
“There are hundreds of boating businesses already using Facebook to maintain and develop their relationships with customers, colleagues and employees,” said BI Editor-In-Chief Matt Gruhn. “By launching a Facebook page, our magazine’s editors can provide news and information to enhance those online conversations, while creating yet another venue through which we can communicate with the industry.”
This new service doesn’t replace the BI e-newsletter readers have come to expect in their inboxes. Rather, it complements it, offering readers an alternate way to access the content throughout their busy lives, the magazine explained.
“The editorial team at Boating Industry is dedicated to adopting new technologies that allow it to better serve its readers and the entire recreational marine business,” said Liz Walz, BI Senior Editor. “This new Facebook page is a prime example of that dedication, as is our launch of a Twitter account and a LinkedIn group, as well as our work on several new online projects to be unveiled in the coming weeks.”
