BRICK, N.J. – Boating supplies retailer West Marine plans to hold a Grand Opening celebration for its Brick Flagship Super Store at 51 Chambersbridge Road on April 17, it reported in a recent statement.
The new store will be the biggest West Marine in the Northeast, featuring a 300-square-foot flybridge and tower, modeled after a 42- foot sport fishing boat, and decked out with state-of-the-art electronics, coupled with a stereo room that boasts a Sony surround sound and other advanced sound systems, according to the retailer.
A six-foot marlin sits atop the indoor fishing hut, which features hundreds of rods, reels and combos for saltwater fishing. In addition, the store offers thousands of lures and terminal tackle, and a selection of bait and custom spooling stations.
At more than 25,500 square feet, the Brick store will feature eco-friendly elements, including Site Controls energy management systems, European VCT tiles, which do not need sealing or waxing, and the disposition of used fishing line for recycling, the company reported.
Stephen C. Acropolis, Mayor of Brick, will proclaim April 17-19 as “West Marine Weekend.” There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on Fri., April 17 with both the Mayor’s office and New Jersey Senator Andy Ciesla in attendance at 9 a.m. on that date, the company stated.
A private media luncheon and store tour will be held with West Marine executives on Thurs., April 16 from noon until 1 p.m., and later that evening, the Very Important Boater (VIB) Party will begin at 6 p.m. to benefit Ocean Medical Center, a 281-bed non-profit community hospital located in Brick, according to West Marine.
