Take Me Fishing site debuts new features

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s Take Me Fishing Web site debuted new content and features this week, according to a release from the foundation.

New features include an interactive “Boat Explorer” tool, a glossary, and navigation and trip planning resources. The site is located at TakeMeFishing.org.

“In an effort to continually improve the content on the site and keep it relevant and engaging for visitors, we added some new interactive features,” RBFF President Frank Peterson said in the release. “Take Me Fishing is about capturing the excitement and the memories associated with boating and fishing and we want to inspire visitors to take action and help preserve the legacy of the sport for future generations.”

Take Me Fishing had 2.4 million unique visitors this year, according to the foundation, with traffic up 129 percent from the same time last year and 243 percent from 2007.

The site was re-launched in April 2008 following a major re-design. In October, a new social network called Fishington was added to serve the online boating community.
