IBBI presents annual supplier awards
BENTON, Ill. — Independent Boat Builders Inc. presented awards at its annual purchasing conference last week in St. Louis, the group said in a recent release. IBBI honored Alcan Baltek, GEM Products and Universal Products as Supplier of the Year.
The companies were selected based on a survey of IBBI members, which rated suppliers on product quality, customer service, delivery, technical service, accurate invoicing and warranty administration, according to the release.
“We are pleased to honor these three companies as the best from the last year,” IBBI President Tom Broy said in a statement. “In addition to being recognized as top suppliers by our group, GEM Products and Universal Products also both received our first ever IBBI Innovation Awards awarded at IBEX last year. I feel that these three companies represent the leading edge in their fields and we are glad to be partners with them.”
IBBI handed out Outstanding Partner Awards to AIM Supply, Composites One and EPCO Marine Products, all of which narrowly missed out on the top awards.
The purchasing conference also included a presentation on testing from the IBBI’s technical committee on resin, gel coat, catalyst, putty and core materials. The testing results reviewed will be used to help select sponsored suppliers, according to IBBI.
Finally, the conference hosted an annual mini-trade show, which IBBI said gave members the opportunity to spend time with key suppliers and see what’s new for the upcoming model year.
