Zodiac Web sites win at local ADDYs

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Several Zodiac of North America Web sites received awards at the 44th Annual Knoxville ADDY Awards held Feb. 21 in Knoxville, Tenn., Zodiac reported in a release.

The Knoxville ADDY Awards is the local first tier of a three-tiered national competition, which will culminate June 6 with the national ADDY Awards Show & Gala in Arlington, Va.

A series of Zodiac recreational products sites, zodiacyachtline.com; zodiacpro15.com; and zodiacprojets.com, won Silver ADDYs. The Web sites each focus on a specific product category and are linked to one another and zodiacmarineusa.com, according to Zodiac.

“This represents an emerging strategy, where we can isolate a product category, which is designed to meet the needs of a specific market segment, and keep the user experience focused on learning more about the product they’re interested in,” Zodiac’s Dan Dougherty said. “It’s an adaptation that uses interactive in a new way. Ads can be targeted in publications and on television, which drive interested prospects to an interactive Web site to learn about the product in a more dynamic way. Then, if they wish to take the next step, they can locate a dealer or contact the manufacturer.”

Two social networking sites designed for Zodiac, hellonwater.com and savemoresouls.com, received Gold ADDYs, with savemoresouls.com also taking home the Best of Interactive, according to Zodiac. The sites allow military/law enforcement and rescue/Coast Guard professionals to share photos, videos and stories, the company said.

“We’re excited both sites were recognized and pleased that the Federation judges saw the tremendous upside potential of SaveMoreSouls.com,” Dougherty said. “Rescue professionals can now post lessons learned in real time, complete with photos and videos, to rapidly relay new techniques, survey other professionals, and build fellowship among departments.”
