Everglades Boats expects to return to production in March

EDGEWATER, Fla. — Based on early boat shows sales, Florida’s Everglades Boats hopes limited boat production will resume in early March, company officials told the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

“We will have to bring some production back at some limited level to meet the demand and orders,” Everglades Marketing Director David Glenn told the newspaper. “We don’t have a lot of boats sitting around.”

The company halted production in December and furloughed most of its staff, with mainly support staff members remaining on the job.

Glenn did not know how many people were affected by the furloughs or how many may return to work next month, the News-Journal reports. Everglades at one time had almost 200 workers, according to the newspaper.
