Stabicraft Marine looks to increase U.S. presence

INVERCARGILL, New Zealand — Stabicraft Marine, a New Zealand-based builder of rigid-hull aluminum boats, is working to expand its U.S. presence by hiring a public relations agency to spearhead its efforts, opening an office near Seattle and appointing a North American sales manager, the company reported in a recent statement.

Stabicraft has already hired Salima Benchoukroun to handle its PR and plans to expand its efforts with the new office and sales manager shortly.

The company said it’s looking to further penetrate the U.S. market, starting with rough-water regions, including the West Coast, Great Lakes, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Executives hope a new office and sales manager in North America will allow the company to respond to U.S. customers’ needs more promptly and efficiently.

“Our purpose is to enhance our customers’ passion for adventure through world-class aluminum boats,” said Paul Adams, managing director at Stabicraft Marine. “Considering that North America endures some of the toughest boating conditions in the world, we believe our stable, safe and durable boats are the answer.”

Benchoukroun will design and execute a media relations program to further build awareness and credibility of Stabicraft Marine boats among dealers and consumers, the company said.

“Salima’s extensive experience and her ability to raise newcomers’ profile in the marketplace will help us get to the next level as we strive to grow our brand and develop a solid network of high-quality dealers,” said Adams.

Founded in 1987, Stabicraft Marine manufactures center consoles, sport boats, runabouts, cruisers and sportfishing boats designed for stability and safety.
