Former Lund workers file lawsuit
PERHAM, Minn. – A group of former and laid off Lund employees has filed a class-action lawsuit against Lund Boat Co. and its parent company, Brunswick Corporation, the Perham Enterprise Bulletin reported in a story this week.
The lawsuit claims the company violated the law by failing to provide employees with all the paid vacation time they say they earned between June 30, 2004 and July 1, 2005. The plaintiffs allege that when the company converted to a new paid vacation policy on July 1, 2005, it failed to credit them for paid vacation time they earned during the previous model year, the newspaper reported.
The plaintiffs contend they lost up to four weeks vacation and seek monetary damages for their claims, and the claims of class members, according to the story.
Contacted by Boating Industry, Dan Kubera, director of media relations and corporate communications for Brunswick Corp., said that as a matter of company policy Brunswick could not comment on the pending litigation.
The Enterprise Bulletin, citing a notice mailed to Lund employees, reported that Brunswick opposes the lawsuit and denies the allegations.

The trial is scheduled to start on Jan. 27.
