Yamaha adjusts production schedule

KENNESAW, Ga. – Three outboard engine facilities in Japan are among the 11 Yamaha plants to be impacted by a plan the company has introduced to adjust production to meet market demand, said Martin Peters, manager of communications for Yamaha Marine Group, in an interview this morning.

The manufacture of marine, motorcycle and related products are affected by this plan, he explained. However, Yamaha’s boat lines are not included.

The first piece of the 10-day closure at the outboard engine plants is scheduled for Feb. 16 to 20. Then, for the remainder of February and March, the plants will operate on a four-day work week in which they will be closed on Fridays, Peters stated.
