Tohatsu to offer extended five-year warranty
FARMERS BRANCH, Texas — Tohatsu America Corp., distributor of Tohatsu and Nissan Marine outboards, will offer extended five-year limited warranties on new, unregistered 2008-2009 model year outboards ranging from 25 hp to 115 hp, it reported in a recent statement. The deal is good until April 15, 2009.
According to the company, the five-year limited warranty will extend the third year coverage from Tohatsu’s standard warranty and will cover the following major components: power head, exhaust system, bracket assembly, power trim and tilt assembly, fuel and oil pump assembly, lower unit assembly and ignition systems. On TLDI Direct Injection models, coverage will include any TLDI technology related components including: air rail, air/fuel injectors, air/fuel regulators, vapor separator, fuel feed pump, throttle position sensor, ECU, air compressor, water temperature sensor and crank position sensor.
Motors must be registered by April 30 to be eligible. Motors used in commercial, government, guide or racing applications are not eligible.
