Tallon Marine targets Canadian market

WANAKA, New Zealand – Tallon Marine, the manufacturer of an integrated accessory system, has appointed Paynes Marine Group as the Canadian distributor of its receiver platforms and four ranges of interchangeable accessories, including Fishing & Diving, Entertaining, Attaching and Power, it reported in a statement yesterday.

This follows on the heels of an announcement last month that the company had appointed APF Marine Group, Hauppauge, N.Y., for the distribution of its receiver platforms and accessories in Lower New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

“Since we set up our distribution hub in the United States, we believed that Canada was a natural progression on that front,” explained Duncan Good, general manager at Tallon Marine. “We were looking for a Canadian distributor with national market penetration and the infrastructure to supply both dealers and OEMs. Paynes Marine Group is an ideal partner with coast-to-coast presence.”

Paynes Marine Group, Canada’s only national wholesale distributor and agent, offers over 34,000 brand-name marine equipment products to dealers, manufacturers, shipyards and government agencies, according to Tallon Marine.

“When we saw Tallon Marine at MAATS, we were impressed with the innovative concept and design,” said Grant Kuebler, president at Paynes Marine Group. “We’re always on the lookout for innovative products to bring to our customers and the decision to represent Tallon Marine in Canada was an easy one. The Tallon System was also well received at our recent annual Marine Show.”

Based in Wanaka, New Zealand, Tallon Marine manufactures The Tallon System, winner of a 2007 NMMA Innovation Award in the Hardware Fittings category (IBEX). Tallon non-powered and powered receiver platforms attach to a user’s boat, enabling them to swap out commonly used marine accessories.
