ADP Lightspeed targets marine payroll biz

SALT LAKE CITY – ADP Lightspeed, a business unit of ADP Inc., is targeting the marine payroll business with its new online payroll product, Payroll Plus, it reported in a recent statement.

This service leverages the knowledge and resources of the ADP Employer Services division, customizing the features offered in other ADP products for the marine industry, according to the company.

Payroll Plus automates new hire reporting, tax filing and tax payment and provides reports to verify the accuracy of payroll, ADP reported. All transactions integrate with the accounting general ledger module in LightspeedMarine, and reports can also be downloaded to Excel.

ADP’s Employer Services Division, which furnishes Payroll Plus, provides human resource and payroll solutions for businesses worldwide. Currently one of every six, non-government U.S. employees are paid through ADP payroll solutions, according to the company.

Payroll Plus is web-based and password projected. The service allows employers to perform payroll activities from any computer with an Internet connection, as well as view pay histories or print pay vouchers, the company reported.

“Although the service integrates with LightspeedMarine it is also available as a stand-alone service through ADP Lightspeed so that all dealerships, regardless of dealer management system, can take advantage of the cost savings, advanced payroll system features and eliminate concerns of updating tax tables,” stated Laurn Rice, vice president and general manager of ADP Lightspeed.
