Dolphins‚ owner to deliver IMBC keynote address
WARREN, R.I. — Wayne Huizenga Jr., owner and manager of the Miami Dolphins and Dolphin Stadium, will deliver a keynote presentation on the future of the marina industry at the 2009 International Marina & Boatyard Conference, IMBC organizers reported in a recent press release.
Huizenga Jr. has extensive experience in business and has been involved in real estate, investing and community organizations for over twenty years. As chairman of the board of Rybovich, a superyacht marina and refit facility, Huizenga Jr. has also led major investments in upgrading the facility.
In his seminar, Huizenga Jr. will discuss where the marina industry is headed and how to take marinas forward into the future. Business, renovation and technology will be among the main topics discussed along with the growth of marina management companies; trends in the size of boats and marinas to accommodate them; and examination of future trends such as destination resorts equipped with luxury amenities to serve tourists and high end clients.
The keynote presentation begins the educational portion of the IMBC on Jan. 26, 2009 at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. Other seminar topics include how to overcome the energy crisis, what‚s on the EPA‚s radar, how to maximize profits, engineering in marina redevelopment, dockside electrical hazards, how to evaluate business decisions, customer service, getting the right equipment, marina market overview, best practices, teambuilding and more.
The event is co-produced by the Association of Marina Industries and the American Boat Builders and Repairers Association. Over the course of three days, nearly 600 conference attendees from around the world choose from a dozen seminars, roundtable discussions and product demos.
