Exhibitor participation doubles at IMI Drystack Conference
WARREN, R.I.—The number of exhibitors participating in this year’s International Marina Institute (IMI) Drystack Conference, held Oct. 26–28 in West Palm Beach, Fla., doubled from previous IMI annual events held in this same time slot, organizers reported in a statement this week. IMI is a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI).
Organizers took this as “a true sign that this topic is still one of significant interest in the landscape of the marina industry.”
Over 125 marina industry professionals attended the conference, which included presentations about the newest technologies in drystack storage and the equipment that is necessary to support these storage systems. Attendees participated in over a dozen educational seminars over the course of two days. They also visited with 22 exhibiting companies and networked at conference luncheons and receptions sponsored by Bellingham Marine Industries and Applied Technology & Management, organizers reported.
At the close of the conference, 31 marina professionals embarked on a 2-day study tour in their mobile classroom with the industry’s Jim Bronstien and Tim Timpson. Participants toured eight of southeast Florida’s marinas and boatyards and met with their marina managers and staff. The attendees were able to learn from the marina managers about their best profit ideas and practices that are critical to operating their marinas at the highest levels of efficiency, according to organizers.
