WESTPORT, Wash. – Having already completed a $1-million-plus, 10,000-square-foot expansion along one end of its cabinet shop, Westport Shipyard is now undergoing a second, almost $1.3 million,16,500-square-foot addition on the other end, the Peninsula Daily News reported in an article today.
The yacht builder currently employs 274 workers in its cabinet shop – which makes the wood interiors for Westport yachts built in Port Angeles, Gig Harbor and Gray's Harbor County – and expects the expansion to allow it to hire 50 more, according to the newspaper.
