Tracker to lay off 136 employees

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Tracker Marine’s Bolivar, Mo.-based plant is laying off 136 employees, effective Dec. 26, according to a recent article on the Bolivar Herald Free Press Web site, bolivarmonews.com.

The move was made following Tracker’s decision to move its Deep V product line from its Bolivar, Mo., plant to its Lebanon, Mo., plant – a decision made in response to the impact of economic conditions, the newspaper reported.

“Our forecast for the coming year is much less than it’s been,” Plant Manager Jeff Gammill told the newspaper. “We have no intention of shutting the Bolivar plant down completely.”

The Bolivar plant will continue to produce 10- to 20-foot utility boats, Gammill explained.
