IBEX pre-registration down slightly

BROOKLIN, Maine — Despite the current economic situation, IBEX 2008 preregistration is only slightly off last year’s record numbers, according to Carl Cramer, IBEX show co-director and publisher of Professional BoatBuilder magazine.

“We’re pleased to see such a strong pre-show indicator in our numbers,” remarked Cramer in a recent statement. “Boatbuilders know that by attending IBEX, they will be better prepared to direct their company’s future growth.”

Organizers reported that professionals from 64 countries have registered to attend as of the middle of the week. “IBEX has become a leading product and educational resource source for builders from around the world,” Cramer stated. “For example, Oslo, Norway based Norboat is bringing a contingent of 30 professional staff to IBEX this year.”

More than 2,000 marine industry professionals pre-registered for either the paid seminar series and/or free workshops, organizers added.

More than 750 companies will exhibit at IBEX 2008. “Half of these companies are debuting new marine products and technologies in the IBEX exhibit halls,” Cramer concluded.

IBEX is owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine and the National Marine Manufacturers Association. For more information, visit the IBEX Web site at www.ibexshow.com.
