Yamaha gives dealers online education option

KENNESAW, Ga. — Yamaha Marine Group recently launched its first online training module for dealers. The product education course will be live and available for use on Wednesday, the company reported in a statement.

Dealers can access the training, part of the Yamaha Marine University, by clicking on the “Education” tab in the Yamaha Marine Business System.

Employees who successfully complete the program will be entered in a drawing to win Yamaha merchandise including a Yamaha C3 scooter and Yamaha sound systems. The drawing will take place May 1, the engine builder reported.

“In past years, dealer sales professionals would attend an annual product training course led by an instructor somewhere in their geographical district,” said Martin Peters, manager of dealer education for Yamaha. “While that worked well, it required travel. Dealers are now looking for ways to optimize time and save on expenses, which led us to the online solution.”

The module will remain available indefinitely so dealers can use as a refresher or to train new employees. Later in October, Yamaha will launch another module on sales techniques for its marine dealers, it said.
