Bennington Marine makes Inc. 5000 List

ELKHART, Ind. – Bennington Marine, designer and manufacturer of pontoon boats, fiberglass deck boats and runabouts, recently made the 2008 Inc. 5000 list, the company reported in a statement today.

Bennington, which said it was the only boat building company to be included in the 2008 ranking, showed 44.5-percent growth between 2004 and 2007.

The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2004 through 2007. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2004, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales, the company explained. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent as of Dec. 31, 2007. 2007 revenue must have been at least $2 million.

Bennington Marine, founded in 1997, reported $105.2 million revenue in 2004 and $152.0 million revenue in 2007. The company said its noteworthy accomplishments include a global dealer network, NMMA customer satisfaction excellence 6 years running, JD Powers award recognition in 2004, and market share leadership in the pontoon industry.
