National Dry Stack Conference scheduled for late October

WARREN, R.I.—The International Marina Institute, a subsidiary of the Association of Marina Industries, has scheduled its eighth National Dry Stack Conference for October 26-28, 2008, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The three-day National Dry Stack Conference, which has been scheduled immediately prior to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, offers professional-development opportunities for those interested in the latest in dry-stack technology as part of their daily business responsibilities. The first two days of the conference feature such seminar topics as new drystack developments and technology, reconfiguring an older marina, financial feasibility of drystack storage, and optimizing yard space for upland storage. The conference closes with a panel discussion featuring industry leaders in a question and answer format.

The National Dry Stack Conference combines educational programs for marina professionals who wish to network with leading managers, developers, and vendors. Attendees from around the world discover the latest in building and equipment-hauling techniques, and financial performance through the seminar programs, discussions with peers, and visits with exhibitors.

The conference will dovetail into the “South Florida Marina & Boatyard Study Tour,” a moving classroom that takes participants on tours of leading South Florida marinas and boatyards just a few days ahead of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, October 29-30, 2008. Tour stops include several well-known West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale marinas, such as Rybovich, Lauderdale Marine Center, Roscioli Yachting Center, Sunrise Harbor, Harbour Towne, Riverbend and The Port Condominium featuring vertical yacht storage systems.
