Online retailer launches boat cover finder

TIGARD, Ore. – Online boating and fishing supplies and accessories retailer SavvyBoater.com has developed a web application that helps boat owners find the right cover for their boat, the company reported in a statement today.

“Boat covers are a critical part of boat maintenance but finding a cover that offers a proper fit can be challenging,” said SavvyBoater Ecommerce Manager Loren Hadley. “Our new Boat Cover Finder simplifies the process by boiling down our online catalogue of 1,500 covers to only those custom and semi-custom covers that will best fit your specific boat. Selecting and customizing a cover, a process that used to take minutes, can now be done in a matter of seconds.”

With a few clicks on SavvyBoater.com, a boat owner can select his boat’s year/make/model information from a constantly-updated list. Once this basic information has been entered, the Boat Cover Finder will notify the boat owner whether there is a custom cover designed for his vessel, the company explained. If there is a custom cover, the Finder immediately displays the product and allows for an online checkout. If not, the system will identify the proper semi-custom boat cover. From that point, the customer can further customize the cover by selecting a material and color option and then proceed to checkout, according to the retailer.

To develop this online tool, SavvyBoater worked closely with boat cover and bimini top manufacturer Taylor Made Products, which has its own online boat cover finder.

Within minutes of placing an order on www.SavvyBoater.com, the cover is scheduled for production in Taylor Made’s production facility. Within days, the boat cover is delivered right to the customer’s doorstep.

“We’ve worked hard to streamline the entire boat cover shopping experience, making it as intuitive as possible,” concluded Hadley.
