NMDA honors Sea-Dog and T-H Marine

LAS VEGAS – Sea-Dog Line and T-H Marine Supplies are the winners of the 2008 National Marine Distributors Association Supplier of the Year Awards, NMDA reported in a release yesterday.

The awards were announced at a luncheon during the NMDA’s annual Sales, Training, Education & Purchasing Conference in Las Vegas.

“In these very challenging times for our industry, it has never been more important to recognize the outstanding performance of companies supplying products, through NMDA member wholesale distributors, to the thousands of independent marine retailers across the US and Canada,” said NMDA Executive Director Nancy Cueroni.

Sea-Dog Line won for the fourth year in a row and the sixth time in seven years in the “Platinum Suppliers” category. The Everett, Wash.-based company is a supplier of over 5,500 marine dock, deck and rigging hardware items, 12-volt electrical/lighting and ventilation accessories. Runners-up in the category were Tie Down Engineering (1st) and Attwood (2nd).

T-H Marine Supplies of Huntsville, Ala., a family-owned supplier of fishing, plumbing, rigging and performance products, was the winner in the “Gold Suppliers” category. Runners-up in the category were Uflex USA (1st) and Johnson Pump (2nd).

NMDA also handed out three “Special Focus” awards at the luncheon. Kwik Tek received the award for Best Packaging, Uflex USA received the award for Marketing Philosophy and Sea Dog Line captured the award for Supply Chain Standards Efficiency.

The wholesale distributor members of NMDA have voted annually since 1972 to recognize their top suppliers for overall excellence in supply chain management, marketing, packaging & shipping and customer service.
