Boat Bunkers forms strategic alliance

BRADENTON, Fla. – Boat Bunkers International, the U.S. manufacturer of an in-water mooring station, has established a strategic alliance with U.K.-based VersaDock International, manufacturer of modular flotation docks and drive-on docking stations, it reported in a recent statement.

Under the alliance, the Boat Bunkers product line will be available to existing and future VersaDock International distributors and dealers as a complementary offering to VersaDock customers, according to the company.

“Boat Bunkers In-Water Mooring Stations are a perfect fit with VersaDock. They represent a very cost effective alternative boat storage solution for vessels of virtually any size and they work extremely well with VersaDock’s floating dock systems,” said Roy Ahern, a director of VersaDock International.

Boat Bunkers offers a solution to control biofouling without the use of toxic components that is available for boats from 12 to 50 feet. The mooring stations create an isolation chamber that the boat floats in that prevents oxygen flow and food sources, which in turn prevents growth of barnacles and other marine life, the company explained.

“This strategic alliance is an important step as we establish our international distribution network,” said Bruce Nelson, CEO of Boat Bunkers International. “VersaDock International has an excellent product line and has been extremely successful in establishing a first class network of international waterfront equipment distributors and dealers. Our alliance offers many synergies for both of our companies, as well as for our distribution partners and boat owners.”

Boat Bunkers and VersaDock will also collaborate on new product development for the international market, Boat Bunkers reported.
