Marine Industry Certification awarded to 400th dealership
CHICAGO – When Crow’s Nest Yacht Sales of Newport Beach, Calif., received official “certified” status last week, the Marine Industry Dealership Certification program certified its 400th dealership, Marine Certification Inc. reported in a recent statement.
Since the program was launched in November 2005, more than 600 dealerships have enrolled, 400 of which have completed the requirements and earned the official “Marine Industry Certified Dealership” designation, the group reported.
“This is an impressive accomplishment just a few short years into the Dealership Certification program,” said Phil Keeter, vice president of Marine Certification Inc. and president of the Marine Retailers Association of America (MRAA). “To have 400 dealerships all across the country having earned Marine Industry Certification clearly demonstrates the industry’s commitment to excellence and its drive toward continuous improvement.”
Helping to spread the word to boat buyers about the benefits of Marine Industry Dealership Certification, more than 64 million consumer impressions online and in print have been delivered through marketing efforts since December 15, 2007, according to the group. Banner ads featured on the home pages, feature pages and dealer locators of boat search websites boats.com, BoatTrader.com, and BoatTest.com, coupled with public relations have been a driving force in these efforts, Marine Certification Inc. reported. In addition to widespread buzz among boat buyers, another benefit of the program is direct access to the Discover Boating Lead System, the group stated.
“At its core, Dealership Certification is designed to help improve the quality of consumers’ sales and service experience and grow the overall industry,” said Thom Dammrich, president of Grow Boating Inc. and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). “While there are many benefits to a dealership for participating in the program, there are also numerous, equally significant benefits to the consumer. Everyone wins when it comes to this industry program.”
