CCP to raise prices at end of June

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Cook Composites and Polymers will increase its prices $0.10 per pound for all unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins and gel coat products will increase $0.12 per pound effective with shipments made on or after June 30, 2008, the company reported in a release yesterday.

“Escalating crude oil and natural gas prices continue to drive up the cost of raw materials, packaging, transportation and energy used to produce gel coats, unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins,” the company wrote in its release. “While we acknowledge the impact these costs have on our customers, we unfortunately do not see a decline in the foreseeable future.”

CCP said it continues to make every effort to diminish the impact of raw material advances through operational restructuring measures resulting in more efficient service designs.

“Looking at the long-term outlook for the markets we serve,” CCP wrote, “correct organizational infrastructure will remain key in maintaining the quality and service expectations of our customers.”
