Sea Ray receives perfect inspection score

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Sea Ray Boats’ Tellico Lake facility hit a high mark recently when it achieved a perfect score from the National Marine Manufacturers Association during a comprehensive inspection, the company said in a release yesterday.

The routine audit was conducted as part of the NMMA Certification program, which covers more than 30 categories of standards set by the American Boat & Yacht Council.

“We are delighted to announce that the NMMA audit resulted in zero negative findings, meaning the Tellico plant and its products are 100-percent compliant with the best practices, safety, and quality points required by the program,” said Craig Laboranti, director of quality for Sea Ray. “This is a major achievement and is a testament to the superior quality product that Sea Ray manufactures.”

“Product quality has always played a major role in our plants. We at Sea Ray consider it a way of life,” said Rick Stone, president of Sea Ray. “Our employees are always striving to achieve record-setting milestones, but to be the first in the marine industry to get a perfect score from an NMMA inspection is a truly noteworthy accomplishment. We’re very proud of our Tellico workers.”

Located in Vonore, Tenn., Sea Ray’s Tellico facility produces the 185 Sport, 195 Sport, 205 Sport, 210 Select, 210 Fission, 230 Select, 230 Fission, 200 Sundeck, 220 Sundeck and 240 Sundeck.
