Carver begins $27-million expansion

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Carver Boat Corp. is undergoing a $27-million expansion by adding on to its Marquis yacht division in Pulaski, Wis., and opening a new production facility in Green Bay, Wis., WBAY-TV reported in a story on its Web site this week.

“We’ll assemble the whole yacht from there, and then from there launch it, and make deliveries throughout the Great Lakes, so it’s quite an involved project,” Carver Boat Corp. President and COO Robert Van Grunsven was quoted as saying.

The expansion project was launched to help Carver build yachts up to 100 feet and will create 450 new jobs for the area, in addition to the 850 Carver Boat already employs in Pulaski, the station reported.

Carver said Marquis yachts should start to be assembled in Green Bay by early August.
