Dallas Boat Show ends positively

DALLAS – Following the 55th annual Dallas Boat Show, many dealers are reporting a positive showing, organizers said in a press release yesterday. Sellers from all ends of the boating spectrum reported increases and overall consumer confidence coming out of the 10-day show.

“We’re definitely up from last year,” said Joe Ham, Advantage Marine president. “Our revenues in 2007 were about $350,000. This year we hit $600,000. So, I can’t complain. In fact, before getting our boats back from the show we had people calling for demos.”

“Normally we sell three to five of our boats,” said Mike Tomlinson, Eliminator Boats general manager. “This year we’ve sold 7.”

“We had a great show with about 18 units sold which is twice what we sold last year,” said Romney Carey, Carey and Sons general manager.

The Dallas Boat Show, wrapped up Feb. 10 at Dallas Market Hall. The show had more than 800 boats on display.
