Bellport Group finalizes Anacapa Marine Services purchase

BELLPORT, Wash. – Effective Feb. 1, Anacapa Marine Services will change ownership, Bellport Group reported in a recent statement.

The marina and boatyard business owned and operated by Richard and Michael Fairchild has been purchased by the marina and shipyard management firm. After 20 years of operation, the Fairchild family is retiring from the business, according to the company, which also owns and manages the Newport Harbor Shipyard in Newport Beach, Calif.

Following approval from the California Coastal Commissions, the marina and shipyard will undergo a series of capital improvements, said Bellport. Two phases of improvements are planned for the facility. The first will include renovations and upgrades to the shipyard including the purchase of a 70-ton travel lift. The second phase will include a complete overhaul of the marina. The marina’s current slips will be replaced with modern concrete floating docks and the basin will be expanded to include an additional 30 slips, according to Bellport. Upon completion, the new marina will feature 50 slips with upgraded utility services accommodating boats up to 50 feet in length.

Marina tenants and shipyard customers can expect a smooth transition, according to Jesse Salem, VP of Shipyard Operations for BellPort Group. “We look forward to continuing Anacapa’s excellent service and the integration of the Anacapa team to the BellPort Group. In keeping with the BellPort Shipyard business philosophies, we will be maturing BellPort Anacapa Marine Services into a full service yard offering the total spectrum of yacht services.”

BellPort Group, an Ambassadors Marine Group company, partners with local ports, developers, and owners to build boating facilities around the world.
