Disney president to speak at Miami show

ORLANDO, Fla. – As the president of worldwide operations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Al Weiss balances his responsibilities for Disney theme parks and resorts on three continents, in addition to Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club with his commitment to his faith, his family and his community.

It is this essence of balance that makes Weiss the perfect candidate for the 6th annual “Leading with Visions and Values” luncheon at the Miami International Boat Show, sponsored by Regal Marine, according to the boat builder. Weiss will share his personal and professional stories with the marine industry on Friday, Feb. 15 from noon to 1:30 pm.

“Al Weiss has one of the most important jobs in the world,” said Tim Kuck, vice president of operations for Regal Marine. “Yet it is his compassionate commitment to faith and family that makes him one of the most down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet.”

Weiss began his 35-year Disney career in 1972 as an hourly Cast Member and worked his way up through a variety of positions. He was named president of the Walt Disney World Resort in 1994 and tapped to lead operations for Disney’s theme parks and resorts around the globe in November 2005.

He is very involved in his church, Faith Baptist in Kissimmee, Fla., according to Regal. He is also chairman of the global board of Vision 360, a multi-denominational church-planting movement dedicated to transforming cities for Christ around the world. Within the company, the community and the corporate world, Al is known for his passion for creating an unparalleled experience for each and every Disney guest, taking the business to new heights, giving back to the community and creating a world-class work environment for Disney Cast Members, Regal reported.

“Regal Marine founded ‘Leading with Vision and Values’ to share the stories of inspiring leaders with the marine industry,” said Kuck. “We are excited about bringing in a high-caliber individual like Al Weiss to share his unique experiences about life balance.”

To ensure your reservation for the “Leading with Visions and Values” luncheon, tickets must be ordered by Jan. 31; they are $35 each or $250 for a corporate table of eight. For reservations or more information, contact Yolanda Quiceno at 407-447-9208, or yquiceno@regalboats.com.
