Canada Metal adds second Chinese operation

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – CMP Global Ltd, Martyr anode and autopilot drive manufacturer Canada Metal (Pacific) Ltd.’s trading arm, has established another new company in China, CMP said in a press release yesterday. The Ningbo Jiaxin Marine Equipment Company will support the company’s expanding activities in the global marine industry.

Located in Ningbo, the second largest harbor in mainland China, Jiaxin will initially manufacture hydraulic components for Canada Metal’s line of Octopus precision autopilot drive systems. Future plans include expanding into other product areas.

“In 2004, we established Ningbo Jiada Specialty Metals Ltd., our first manufacturing plant in China,” said John Mitchell, Canada Metal president. “Opening the new Jiaxin facility is the next step in the globalization of our business.”
