Old Port Cove Marina completes renovations on schedule
NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. – Old Port Cove Marina has finished $7 million in renovations to its North Marina, the company said in a press release yesterday. The newly renovated marina can now accommodate approximately 55 vessels from 50 feet to 190-foot mega-yachts. The marina can also accommodate yacht tenders from 20 feet to 30 feet.
The sweeping renovations began last spring and included replacing all docks, piers and pilings with hard wood-decked floating docks. The marina also includes new power pedestals with 100 amp single- and three-phase electric, cable, phone, wifi, and in-slip pump-out. In addition, the marina has a fire fighting system, new lighting and landscaped bulkheads and parking area. Marina operations continued during the renovation with dockage provided at its sister marina facility just to the south.
Marine industry businesses involved in the renovations included The Murphy Construction Co.; Isiminger & Stubbs Engineering, Inc.; Mike Tammaro, P.A.; Dave Lincoln Plumbing; and Current Connections, Inc.
This is the latest in Old Port Cove Holdings, Inc.’s ongoing efforts to preserve public marina facilities. It has previously renovated its North Palm Beach Marina and New Port Cove Marine Center in Riviera Beach, Fla. The final phase of its facilities-wide renovations will begin with improvements to Old Port Cove’s South Marina next spring. The renovations will result in a marina more than two times larger than the newly renovated North Marina and will accommodate vessels from 45 feet to 190 feet in length. The South Marina will also get a new fuel dock, fueling equipment, redesigned upland areas for parking and new landscaping. Renovations on the South Marina should be completed by fall 2008.
