Marine industry firms receive fabrics awards
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Several marine industry firms are among the winners of the Industrial Fabrics Association International’s (IFAI) 2007 International Achievement Awards.
The 60th annual competition, which received a record 387 entries from 14 countries in 28 categories, is judged by a panel of industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals selected for their knowledge of the category. Judges evaluated each entry based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function.
The 2007 International Achievement Awards were presented during IFAI Expo 2007, Oct. 3-5 in Las Vegas.
The Marine Powerboats Award of Excellence went to Cape Canvas & Rigging Service, West Yarmouth, Mass. for its 31-foot Jupiter Center Console project.
Marine Powerboats Outstanding Achievement Awards went to Mike’s Marine Custom Canvas, Virginia Beach, Va., for its 30-foot Glacier Bay Center Console project, and Rainier Industries Ltd., Tukwila, Wash., for its Tiara Yacht Enclosure project.
The Marine Upholstery Award of Excellence went to DRH Canvas & Marine Ltd., Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, for its Chris Craft Interior Upholstery project.
Marine Upholstery Outstanding Achievement Awards went to Yacht Charmer Interiors LLLC, Apollo Beach, Fla., for its 20-foot Deck Boat project, and European Custom Upholstery, Lighthouse Point, Fla., for its Cockpit and Interior Cushions project.
The Marine Sailboats Award of Excellence went to Iverson’s Design, Olympia, Wash., for its Extra-large Dodger project.
Marine Sailboats Outstanding Achievement Awards went to Iverson’s Design, Olympia, Wash., for its Elan 386 Retractable Dodger project, and for its Yellow Enclosure on Beneteau 353 project.
