LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Marine industry giant Brunswick Corp. has agreed to purchase the remainder of New Zealand boat builder Rayglass, the company confirmed this morning. Brunswick had originally purchased a 49-percent minority stake in the company in September 2003.
Rayglass Managing Director Tony Hembrow will continue to run the business, which has plans for aggressive expansion, he told The New Zealand Herald for a an article today.
Rayglass makes 325 boats per year, including both fiberglass runabouts and inflatable boats, 180 to 200 of which are exported to more than 17 countries, the newspaper reported. It described Rayglass as New Zealand’s biggest boat builder.
