YachtCouncil.org reports jump in yacht sales

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Members of YachtCouncil.org’s multiple listing system are showing significant yacht sales increases in the first half of 2007, compared to the same period of 2006, according to a statement from the company today.

“Our raw data shows that the total dollars of motor yachts over 70 feet sold during the first 6 months of 2007 has increased 21 percent over the same 6 month period in 2006,” said Barb Tierney, vice president of YachtCouncil.org. “But, just as impressive, motor yachts less than 70 feet enjoyed a 9-percent increase in total dollars during the same period.”

YachtCouncil.org said its members are poised to reach a new high before the end of 2007.

“We recently released a new version of our contact manager and a new vessel tracking feature that we believe will continue to keep our members in front of the curve and one step ahead of the buyers,” said Al Gardner, CTO of Marine Solutions. “There’s no way to tell if these tools can take any credit, but the fact remains that our brokers are selling boats and the yacht brokerage industry is continuing to grow.”

YachtCouncil.org, the member back end of YachtCouncil.com, is the official search engine and multiple listing system of professional yacht broker associations such as FYBA, MYBA, CYBA, NYBA, YBAA, BCYBA and ABYA.
